Measuring and Sizes
A measuring tape is all it takes
We at Shapeshifters know that every body is built different. That’s why, over years of making binders, sports bras, and dresses, we’ve developed our own in-house sizing system that caters to people of all sizes. With just a few easy measurements, we can adjust any garment to your needs.
To find your size on our size chart: find your chest measurement on the side, your underchest measurement at the top, then trace them down to find the box where they meet. A blank box means you can potentially fit the range of sizes around that box. If you're unsure which size to choose, we recommend going with the larger size.
Binder Measurement Guide
Chest: Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your chest. Inhale. (It’s often easiest and most accurate to do this lying down.)
Under-chest: Drop the tape measure down to your ribcage. Inhale.
Stomach: Drop the tape measure down to the narrowest point of your waist (for longer binders) or at the point you want the binder to end (for mid-length binders.) If you want a little midsection compression, suck your tummy in as you measure.
Hips: Wrap the tape measure around where you want the binder to end. Do not pull overtight.
Length: Place the end of the tape measure at the top of your shoulder, close to your neck, and let it drop down over your full chest. Measure down to where you’d like the bottom hem of the binder to fall. Be generous!! If your binder is too short, you'll need to get it replaced, which will take much longer than simply cutting off extra length from one that's too long.
*Note that Stomach and Hip measurements are only necessary for longer binders. If your binder length is 18″ or less, we don’t need ’em.
Sports Bra Measurement Guide
